Our area waters are the summer home of the Common Loon. Their cries are hauntingly beautiful. Loons can be found on First, Second, and Third Connecticut Lake, Lake Francis, Back Lake, Round Pond and Clarksville Pond. Loons are migratory and spend early May thru November in our area.

Loons can be heard at times during the day but mainly at night. Sit on the porch of your cabin and listen to the loons call to each other over the moonlit lake.
