12.2 miles from Rte 3 on Magalloway Rd, a well kept logging road, and down a quarter mile path, you'll find Garfield Falls. Garfield Falls easy to find, easy parking and even outdoor bathroom facilities at the trailhead.

The falls are on the East Branch of the Dead Diamond River near the Maine border. There are a couple great pools for the adventurous summer swimmer or fisherman. Truly a beautiful spot. Bring a camera, bathing suit and good walking shoes!!

If you are making a day of woods adventure, first climb Magalloway Mountain which is 5 miles out Magalloway Rd. Catch some morning sunshine from the top of the mountain; this makes for great pictures!! Then continue out to Garfield Falls for a picnic atop the falls and then swimming beneath the falls in the afternoon.

Return to your cabin in late afternoon, perhaps you'll catch a glimpse of moose in Moose Alley as you return!
