East Inlet
Two miles off Route 3 on a well maintained logging road, you will find this wonderfully pristine watershed. Moose commonly come to the edges to graze on the aquatic grasses. Overhead the Blue Heron flies while small brook trout rise to feed on hatching insects. East Inlet is an ideal spot for canoeing. Paddle up the feeder brook to Norton Pool. Donated to the Nature Conservancy by the paper company, the East Inlet area has one of the few remaining virgin stands of forest in the east. Truly a special place in our vast northern forest.
Fishing Season: 4th Saturday in April to October 15th
Brook Trout ~ 5 fish or 5 lbs whichever is reached first.
Directions from
Lopstick; Take US Route 3 north to East Inlet Rd, a right hand turn off Rte 3 approximately 10 miles north. Just after the bridge at the T in the road, bear right. East Inlet will be one mile from this point on your left. Park at the dam.
