Drifting the Connecticut River Reserve a day with us floating the Upper Connecticut River in our 16' Clackacraft Drift boats. Cast dry flies to rising fish to selective trout sipping on the surface on a warm summers day or cast buggers to the shore, stripping them back to entice a brown trout lurking beneath a downed branch. Drift boat fishing on the Upper Connecticut River provides access to prime New Hampshire trout water. Included is a cook-out/shore lunch that our guides will prepare on shore while you wade the river. We drift the river below the town of Stewartstown, NH. Here the river is mud and gravel bottomed with steep and under-cut banks. Rainbows and browns live in the river here as well as the occasional brook trout. The river passes through farm land at this point. Insects are slightly different from the upper reaches of the river and include more terrestrials such as grasshoppers and ants. A full day drip on the Connecticut river would leave from the lodge between 8:30-10:30 am and end between 7 and 10 pm. We provide a s shore lunch and drinks. We also offer a half day drift in the afternoon/evening only. We leave from the lodge between 2-3 pm. We drift the Connecticut late May thru Mid September.
