So the end has come and now is the time to try and catch up on all the things we haven't had time to do the entire season. Although taking care of unfinished business is always nice being on the water is even nicer. Today is a beautiful day. The sun is out the temp is more than comfortable, alas alack it not meant to be for here in the north country. Some days I wish the guiding season could continue, but it's a delicate time for the fish that are trying to spawn it would have to be manage properly. Well the final days of the season were fantastic, a little busy on the weekend but still great days. I must say the last day was the coldest day I think I have ever fished up in Pittsburg. The eyes of the rod were actually freezing up and my toes turned blue, Yeah that's cold. But it still fished well. We couldn't quite get the grand slam the fish we didn't get was a Brook trout. But a great day none the less.

   Well this  is the end to another successful season, I'd like to thank you all for that. We certainly had some great days and as always a few days that were a little less than desirable. Thank God those days are not to often. It's amazing even after so many years of fishing and guiding these waters I still have days that are the best fishing I've ever seen here and certainly a good year for big fish. We had a few days of experimental fishing, especially on the reservoir for smallies. That was a lot of fun another great option. The Hex hatch on Back lake and float tubing in Perry Pond. The Androscoggin yielded a beautiful 20" brown about 5lbs on a dry fly a (Henryville special) to be exact. Amazing, the dry fly activity at the end of the season I would say would rival the famed Alder fly hatch. We certainly cannot dismiss the B.W.O's and caddis activity on the Connecticut. This is truly an amazing river, we are very fortunate, don't just take my word for it ask your friends who have fished it with us.

   This is what will keep us coming back and will warm our thoughts during the cold winter freeze of the north country. Not to fear May is just around the corner. We are already taking bookings for 2010 so get your favorite spots early, and we'll be seeing you at the shows.

PEACE Tight Lines,        BILL   >~::;}'>
