![]() Good evening The heat has certainly taken it's toll on all of us. I think more mentally than physically. I'm just very thankful for everyday on the water is a reprieve no matter how hot the air temperature is. The Connecticut river is COLD and the surrounding air is pleasant. With that said the fishing has been good and even at times great. Definitely enough fish to keep people happy and fairly regular hatches. This past week I've been drifting and wading. I had an afternoon where I switched back to the old standby,( double nymph rig ) and the fish climbed all over it, it was almost like the old days and we hooked some really big Brookies. The float trips have consistently been producing large numbers of Trout, and a few really nice fish at that. We had one Behemoth this week that top the scales at over 10 pounds. Those do not come everyday but we've seen some beauties this season. Everyday is a new adventure and new guest, when your tired sit down and rest when your fishing, fish. You never know what your next cast will produce. PEACE, tight lines, BILL >~`}}'> |
