Good morning folks. Yes, with the sweet smell of fresh warm air, and of summer rain the air turns before. Ahh... Breath, soft, rhythmic, tranquil. Yourself solely alone even amongst your thoughts, distant, it is what it is. And for all of us, different. Why we do and what we are, to fly fish removes us from most if not all our daily vises, focus without struggle, free the mind and the body will travel with, as simple as a sweet cast, effortless.

Wow, can you believe it's half way through July? The weather hasn't exactly been the best certainly not like some consider summer. But it's been good for the fishing. The water STILL is at a great level and the temps are fantastic.

I have been recently hearing some and only some reports of the fishing slowing down. And I've seen some instance's of this while observing this behavior. Yes, the fish are getting smarter. They have gotten a lot of pressure, there has been a lot of people on the water. But wow.... There is still a lot of fish to be caught. I just got off the water with a couple who I've guided a few time before . Over all they may have fly fished maybe 6 times in their career. Between the two of them they landed nearly 20 fish in just under 4 hours. It's all about technique. GOOD JOB to them.

We've also been floating the river this week. One of the couples I floated had an absolute wonderful day, landing many, many fish and boating the largest Brown to date as far as my boat goes. 21 1/2 inches and estimated just over 5 lbs. CONGRATS to ED!!!!! Can you say WOOLEY BUGGER!!!

The fishing has been good. Been checking and hiking to different spots and there are a lot of happy and healthy fish in the North Country. So much water and so little time. If you don't have the time, I'd suggest hiring a guide to maximize that time and learn how to catch fish in these situations. We've been real busy and business has been good, but we still have some guide days available. Give us a call and let us help you out. We're good at it. If nothing else get out there and try it out, there's nothing like it, fooling a fish on a fly.

Caddis have been very prolific and will be for a while, I'm waiting for the Hoppers and flying ants. YEAH....

Thank You folks, hope to see you out there, if not, I'm in the shop most early mornings.

   PEACE   tight lines,   BILL       >~:'}}'>
