| Greetings!
What a crazy winter we've had so far! Trails opened January 4th and we've had all types of weather since then. However the Artic Jet Stream has dropped into place and will settle here for a while according to the weather blog on Weather Underground. We have snow in the forecast all weekend with a larger event coming in the first part of the week which will be all snow for us. Finally.
We have snow coverage on most all trails north of Back Lake. Corey and Tim rode from the lodge today and reported that there is a 200 yd long section of 139 which is rutted up due to a logging operation which is difficult to get through just after the bridge and just before where you drop onto 140. But the 140 is beautiful. Flat, smooth and riding the speed limit. Woo Hoo! We are pleased to have so many logging roads as our snowmobile trails. You do not really need much snow to make the trails smooth and beautiful. Even the Pittsburg Ridge Runners (who are overly conservative in their trail reporting) report " Quite Good" conditions on the north/east trails.

We have flurries and snow showers predicted daily right through the weekend. We get the bulk of our snow from flurries. But it looks like we may get a big snow event the first part of next week! The snowmobile trails are open. Our guests this week did 50-70 miles per day increasing every day as we've gotten more snow. This is early season conditions with the best riding to the north and east. Lesser amounts around businesses and points south. Be alert for stream crossings and other early season hazards. Best bet would trailer to Magalloway Rd or East Inlet. Trails are open north of Back Lake but best rides will be north and east. Snow is thin but coverage is good. The logging road trails (140, 145, 5, 20) are a blast!!!
Guests this week reported a section of Rte 5 where the wind whipped snow from the trail not far from the Tin Camp. Conditions improve daily with the flurries we receive. We are now renting sleds.

For the first time there will be winter ATV riding in Pittsburg, NH! Perry Stream Land and Timber Company has agreed to let the ATV club open some trails this season on a trial basis. So lets have some safe fun!
The club is in the process of producing a winter trail map. They should be ready soon and can be obtained at the Arctic Cat/Polaris dealer on Back Lake Road. The trails will close this spring, probably around the end of March, before mud season. It will be announced here on the web site and posted at the trail head parking when the ATV trails close.
